Lorena entiende lo importante que es la participacion de los padres en actividades escolares, tiempos dificilies porque participa en grupos de padres. I met Lorena through our shared love of music. Let me tell you- Lorena is a woman who always finds a way. She is incredibly resourceful and if she can’t find a way to help directly, she will point you in the right direction. But the best things about Lorena are her generosity of spirit, and her commitment to her community. For example, when I had a need that couldn’t be met by a community program, Lorena personally volunteered to watch my daughter every Friday morning just so that I could show up to work on time at my full-time job as a teacher. That support from Lorena made the biggest difference in my ability to provide for my daughter. You see, this is who Lorena is: someone who shows up when others aren’t willing, someone who always tries to find solutions and fill the gaps. Of all the friends my daughter could have, Lorena’s children are the biggest blessing. They are kind, welcoming, inclusive, and adaptive to my daughter’s special needs. I could not be more grateful for the incredible children that she has raised. Lorena is a very busy person with her job, family and community activities, but she always makes time to respond to the emergent needs of those around her. I know that she will show up the exact same way as a school board member, because it all comes from her integrity, her tenacity (determination), her intelligence, and her heart.
